if you don't like leaving the house, please send your checks to: bread & roses or womens way15. what is the performance space like?
space?
there are actually 3 spaces on the premises:
a. the basement: best described as a low-ceilinged narrow corridor flanked by records. a contrabass fits comfortably - if laid on its side. the acoustic quality is reminiscent of the village vanguard with the occasional floorboard creak, the sound of water running through pipes and/or passing traffic.
b. the rear patio: cozy and dizzy with the ambience of nearby south street. if you're lucky, you may hear HVAC or a neighbor's cries of "shut the #@!^&#! up." otherwise, it's all about tiki torches and good vibrations not unlike those enjoyed by members of the jamaican bobsled team.
c. the first floor: here, performers are shielded from the unruly audience by a wall of CDs that affords protection to all but the neck and head. there are 2 lighting options: brutal flourescent tubes spitting blue fire or spine-chilling darkness that numbs the soul. al sharpton serves as the master of ceremonies here.16. is it difficult to park the car in harvard yard?
yes.17. is there a projection screen in the basement?
what basement?18. is there a video projector there?
where?19. can my rock band play here?
technically, it's just not possible. in fact, just thinking about it results in the forfeiture of any rock credentials you may have held. sorry.20. what is your new favorite drink?
tequila sunrise
